
Arpita Reddy (b.1970, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh), an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad, she acquired a master’s in painting from Hamidia College, Barkatullah University, Bhopal. She has dedicated herself over the last two decades, to the study and practice of the various styles of traditional Indian painting such as the Miniature, Thangka, Kalamkari, Pattachitra, Phad, Tanjore and most importantly Kerala murals. She is the recipient of several accolades, such as, Make in India Award by Bharat Nirman Foundation, New Delhi; Kalidasa Rashtriya Puraskar from the Kalidasa Academy, Ujjain in the traditional painting category for the depiction of Putrakameshtiyagam from Raghuvamsham by Kalidasa; 3rd prize in traditional art category at the National Art Exhibition held by South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur; and special award for Women Artists at the National Painting Exhibition conducted by Kalidasa Academy, Ujjain. She has participated in art camps, travel shows, several solo & group shows in Indian and the USA. Her works are in collection several private and institutional art collectors in India and overseas, such as, Indira Nooyi, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo, Venkateswara College, New Delhi and MOSA – Museum of Spiritual Art, Belgium. Presently, she lives and works in Hyderabad.
