Rita Jhunjhunwala
Rita Jhunjhunwala(b. Kolkata, India) graduated from Calcutta University in 1977, with meritorious distinction and government scholarship. She is the recipient of several accolades, such as, the Soviet Land Nehru Award for painting by the President of India and sent to USSR, award for painting by Rotary Club New Delhi, Bhikuram Jain Foundation Award, Sangeet Shyamala Award, Aparajita Award anda medal in the 8th Gran Premio Internationale Di-Pittura, Rome, Italy. She has participated in several group and solo shows in India and overseas. Her works are in collection with several private and institutional art collectors in India and overseas, such as, the Rashtrapati Bhawan by the President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam. Presently, she lives and works in Kolkata.
