Sonali Laha is a contemporary artist based in Bengaluru. She holds an M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Hyderabad (2012), after a B.F.A. in Painting from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal (2010). Working primarily with traditional Indian tempera on handmade wasli, her practice explores memory, mindfulness, self-love, and the relationship between the mind, body, and broader social and political conditions. Her recent exhibitions include Between Yesterday and Tomorrow at Aem Contemporary, New Delhi (2025); Mirror Mirror on the Wall at Champatree Gallery × EKCHITRA, Delhi (2024); Measuring Life with Coffee Spoons at APRE Art House, Mumbai (2024); and the Art and Architecture Design Biennale at the Red Fort, Delhi (2023). Laha received the Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India (2019) and the All India Emerging Artist Award from Odisha Lalit Kala Academy (2012).
