About the Gallery

​

Founded by Archana Sapra and Pooja Bahri, Champatree Art Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in New Delhi, with a permanent second space in Hyderabad. The gallery grew out of the Art For Art Foundation (A4A), established in 2011 with a commitment to sustained artistic practice. From the outset, A4A has focused on mentorship, dialogue and long-term engagement with artists across regions and stages of practice.

Champatree has developed as the gallery platform within this ecosystem, supporting artists as their practices enter wider public, institutional and collector-facing contexts. The programme works closely with emerging artists and, increasingly, with mid-career artists whose practices have developed over time. Exhibitions are shaped through research, conversation and careful presentation, with an emphasis on clarity, documentation and sustained engagement with the artists represented.

Champatree now operates across New Delhi and Hyderabad, with its permanent second space located on the lower-ground floor of ARTYK, Jubilee Hills. The Hyderabad space presents a year-round programme of exhibitions, artist projects and conversations, extending the gallery’s ongoing engagement with artists and audiences across regions.

The gallery’s development is closely tied to the relationships that have shaped it over time: artists, mentors, collaborators, collectors and patrons who have remained close to the work. As Art For Art marks 15 years and Champatree marks 10, these relationships continue to inform both the gallery’s programme and its next phase.
